THE HOW – I had never really given much thought to the idea of using my voice for anything other than speech and humming, until one fine day back in the 90s, right in the middle of producing and editing a documentary, our professional narrator had to pull out at the last minute.

It fell upon me to step-up and save the moment, so that’s just what I did. Well, the documentary was finished on time and turned out to be an even bigger success than we had hoped, my voice seemed to have been a good fit, and I must admit, I really enjoyed it.

Since then, I have been putting my voice to projects all over the world and with time, gained experience and grown my repertoire to include a wide range of formats, from high-end advertising, right through to educational and gaming applications, and drama.

WHY & WHEN – I have always had a naturally creative disposition founded in music and the arts. Since I was a kid, I was either making some kind of musical noise or experimenting with newly discovered types of 2D and 3D media.

In the late 80s I got involved in the early deployment of digital media production, which was really starting to take off, opening the doors of creativity to a new generation of artistic professionals.

I started working in advertising, developing my skills in photography and then videography, when an Ad Agency in Southern Spain made me an offer I couldn’t refuse; they wanted a young native English designer and photographer to join their team. So, I traded in my umbrella for some sunglasses and started out on what became a career that would take me through a rich tapestry of different countries and cultures.

It was around then, that I also started photo journalism, that later became a love for producing documentaries. Telling a story from start to finish, gaining the trust and heart of an audience, to move them about something important.

Friends and colleagues urged me to get involved with radio but it was through a well-known Voice Agency that my voice really started getting heard.

I built up what would become a portfolio of hundreds of voice projects, ranging from promoting some of the best-known luxury goods and brands in the world, to providing public information and entertainment, and delivering critical reports of real-life events, and that’s just what I have been doing ever since.

The rest, as they say, is history …
,,, history in the making.
