Hello! I'm Ian Fishman, a Millennial, full-time voice actor living in Minneapolis, MN USA.
As a "Savagely Friendly/Brutally Buttery" voice talent, I specialize in naturally warm, cheerful, and down-to-earth reads with a Millennial spin for commercials [broadcast/political/automotive], narration [corporate/Medical], eLearning, Explainer, and IVR/On-Hold Messaging VO.
I got my start in the comedy world: after getting my BFA-Acting from Pace University in NYC, I performed and trained in sketch comedy & improv with the UCB, PIT, and Magnet Theaters in NYC, along with Brave New Workshop, HUGE Theater, the National Theatre for Children, and ComedySportz in Minneapolis. After having a parody comedy sketch with my voiceover go viral back in *gulp* 2007, I slowly started to build my voiceover business and career, and have been a full-time voice actor since 2015. [That sketch, if you'd like to see it, is a PSA called "Cooties."]
I've got a full, broadcast-quality home studio with a StudioBricks OnePlus iso booth, where I use Neumann TLM-103 and Sennheiser 416 microphones, an Apollo Twin interface, and Twisted Wave on my Mac Mini to provide 24-hour turnaround on most projects. I value quick & clear communication... which is a big part of why I *love* being directed live!
When I'm not in the booth, I'm an avid comedy writer, skier, and gardener, digging in the dirt outside with my wife Abigail, our pup Eenie Meanie, and our cats, Gigglepuss and Sassmouth; I serve on the boards for a punk rock co-op record store, as well as a Jewish young adult leadership group; and I'm a very good eater. Not, like, "competitive eating," but most grandmothers take a shine to me in part because of my healthy appetite.
Thanks for giving me a listen — please reach out anytime if you'd like to team up!
